This may be the first time in history that it’s been a good day to be a frustrated TfL traveller.
So, here it is: a website can help you make money from your delayed journeys.
Thanks to reeclaim.com, Tube-goers can total up their automatic refunds for any journey delayed more than 15 minutes over their past year of travel – and the even better news is it’s super simple and will only take you a couple of minutes to set up.
Yes, instead of having to document your own journey to convince TfL you deserve your money back, the site calculates and submits it on your behalf.
Seriously. It couldn’t be any easier – but we’ll walk you through it.
To see how much money you could get back, you will need to register your card with TfL and link it to the Reeclaim website via the Connect tab.
If you are due a refund, the money will end up back in your account (and can be used to top up your Oyster card or put back onto your contactless), and this will continue whenever you’re owed a refund.
For the London Underground and DLR, you’ll get a refund if there is a delay of 15 minutes or more. For the London Overground and TfL Rail, a delay must be 30 minutes.
So what are you waiting for? That refund is yours.
